Reuben Amorim faces mounting pressure at Manchester United but says he has full support from co-owner Jim Ratcliffe ahead of crucial Liverpool clash

Reuben Amorim Manchester United pressure continues to dominate headlines as the club’s under-fire manager acknowledged receiving regular support from co-owner Jim Ratcliffe, despite growing unrest from fans and media.

The Portuguese manager, who is barely halfway into his first season at Old Trafford, spoke to reporters on Friday, citing Ratcliffe’s reassurances as a stabilising force amid the noise surrounding his future.

“Yes, he tells me all the time… sometimes with a message,” Amorim revealed, according to a post by football journalist Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter). “The most important thing is the next game. It’s really good to hear the support, also because of the noise.”

This comes just weeks after PUNCH Online reported that Amorim has been given a three-year mandate to prove himself, with Ratcliffe firmly against making any “knee-jerk” decisions.

Manchester United return to action on Sunday with a high-stakes clash at Anfield against rivals Liverpool, having edged past Sunderland 2-0 before the international break.

A win would go a long way in easing the pressure on Amorim, especially as Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions, have failed to win their last three matches.

Although the mood at the club remains tense, Ratcliffe’s support appears to have injected a degree of confidence into the manager’s camp.
