Victor Osimhen reaches 52 goals, becoming Galatasaray’s fourth-highest scoring foreign player after victory over Rizespor

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen became Galatasaray’s all-time fourth-highest scoring foreign player following his goal in the club’s 3-0 victory against Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday, February 9, 2026.

Barış Alper Yılmaz opened the scoring for Galatasaray in the 19th minute, with Yunus Akgün doubling the lead before Osimhen extended the advantage in the 73rd minute.

The goal took Osimhen’s tally for the club to 52 strikes, surpassing Bafétimbi Gomis’ 51 goals.

The top three foreign scorers ahead of Osimhen remain Mauro Icardi with 73 goals, Gheorghe Hagi with 72, and Milan Baros with 61 goals.

Osimhen’s record-breaking strike has cemented his status among the club’s most prolific foreign players, highlighting his impact since joining Galatasaray.

The victory over Rizespor also solidified Galatasaray’s league position, with Osimhen’s performance lauded for its precision and consistency.

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Mr Frank Aigbogun, Publisher of BusinessDay newspaper, on his 70th birthday.

In a statement issued on October 31, the President described Aigbogun as a distinguished journalist and media entrepreneur who has contributed significantly to the growth of business journalism, economic reporting and informed public discourse in Nigeria.

Tinubu commended him for his commitment to responsible journalism and for providing a platform for insightful analysis of economic policies, investment opportunities and developments that shape Nigeria’s business environment.

He noted in particular Aigbogun’s use of BusinessDay to strengthen connections among the media, the private sector, policymakers and the investing public, while advancing credible business reporting in national development.

“I believe experienced media professionals such as Frank must remain invaluable contributors to Nigeria’s institutional development and the advancement of business journalism, at a critical time, as our nation undergoes economic reforms,” the President said.
