Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Suspension draws sharp criticism from North Central PDP, urging her reinstatement to restore democratic and gender representation

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Suspension has triggered serious backlash from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria’s North Central zone, which condemned her removal as unjust and undemocratic.

During its inaugural zonal meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, PDP leaders demanded her immediate reinstatement, warning that her absence from the National Assembly disenfranchises Kogi Central constituents and undermines women’s participation in governance.

The communiqué, signed by Zonal Secretary Hon. Francis Orogu, emphasized that the Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Suspension “undermines democratic representation” and called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio to act swiftly.

“Senator Natasha has shown boldness and service commitment. She is not alone. We demand her reinstatement without delay,” Orogu declared.

The party also passed a vote of confidence in its zonal leadership under Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and lauded efforts toward unifying the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

On security, the PDP urged religious leaders to uphold moral values and called on the Federal Government to tackle rising insecurity rather than focus on premature political campaigns.
