NAHCON 2026 Hajj licensing opens for travel agencies. Applications close September 15, 2025, with strict requirements and compliance rules

NAHCON 2026 Hajj licensing has officially opened, with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria urging travel agencies to submit applications for licenses and slot allocations ahead of the September 15, 2025 deadline.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Commission warned that only firms meeting its corporate, regulatory, and financial standards will be considered.

Saudi authorities have already insisted that no deadline extensions will be granted for the 2026 pilgrimage processes.

Among the requirements, applicant agencies must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, maintain a minimum share capital of ₦30 million, hold valid IATA approval, and employ qualified staff.

They must also demonstrate a strong track record in providing satisfactory Hajj or Umrah services.

The Commission stressed that agencies with criminal convictions, unresolved debts, or outstanding complaints with Nigerian or Saudi authorities will be disqualified.

In addition, all successful applicants will pay a licensing fee of ₦1 million, present detailed Hajj packages, provide reputable guarantors, and secure confirmed flight and accommodation arrangements.

NAHCON also issued firm warnings: agencies that fail to present accommodation for inspection by December 2, 2025, or alter transport and lodging without pilgrims’ consent, risk sanctions. Companies linked to absconded pilgrims will equally face penalties.

To guarantee transparency, NAHCON stated that all payments must be made from corporate accounts, adding that it will not bear responsibility for any financial losses during the process.

The Commission reminded stakeholders that the deadline for securing Masha’ir Camp bookings in Saudi Arabia is January 4, 2026.
