Wunti Alkhair Foundation empowers 1,000 entrepreneurs in Bauchi with training, tech exposure, and agriculture support to transform local communities

Wunti Alkhair Foundation has empowered over 1,000 entrepreneurs across Bauchi State through intensive training in business mindset, financial management, market positioning, and access to finance.

The initiative is part of the Foundation’s mission to transform communities through targeted interventions in entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, and agriculture.

During a media session on Wednesday, the Foundation’s Director of Programmes, Mustapha Ango, highlighted how the organisation is building long-term impact by equipping youth and small business owners with tools for growth and resilience.

“Our goal is to create opportunities that transform lives while ensuring the most vulnerable are not left behind,” Ango stated.

The Foundation’s efforts have reached far beyond business training. Under the Bala Wunti Tech Fellowship 2025, a select group of young entrepreneurs were taken on an industrial tour to Lagos.

The visit coincided with GITEX Nigeria 2025, giving fellows exposure to global tech trends and direct engagement with top industry leaders.

A notable highlight was the participation of Muhammad, a 2024 fellow, who showcased his startup during the exhibition.

“That moment proved that Bauchi-born innovators can compete on national and global stages when given the right support,” said Ango.

In agriculture, the Foundation launched the Bauchi Agricultural Advancement Programme, which includes the Fertiliser for Farmers Initiative.

Through this, 6,000 smallholder farmers received fertilisers aimed at improving crop yield, boosting food security, and reducing farming costs across various LGAs.

Ango explained, “Each bag of fertiliser we distribute is more than an input—it’s an investment in Bauchi’s future and a step towards agricultural self-reliance.”

The Foundation also rolled out the Bauchi Business Clinic, a programme that offers free Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration for small businesses.

The goal is to formalise enterprises and drive sustainable job creation in the state.

In line with its social welfare mission, the Foundation distributed food essentials ahead of Eid al-Maulud, reaching hundreds of families. Ango said the act was rooted in compassion and solidarity.

“Celebrations should not be defined by hardship. Our values push us to respond to people’s needs with dignity,” he noted.
