Governor Umo Eno approves early Eno-mber 13th-month bonus for Akwa Ibom workers to ease Christmas celebrations

Uyo, Akwa Ibom – Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has approved the disbursement of a 13th-month “Eno-mber” salary bonus to state workers ahead of the Christmas season.

The announcement was made on Monday via the governor’s social media handles, with Eno directing the state Accountant General to facilitate the payment.

He expressed hope that the early release of funds would allow employees to celebrate comfortably.

“I have directed the Accountant General to pay the 13th-month Eno-mber salary before Christmas, so our workers can celebrate with ease. Happy New Month,” the governor wrote.

The 13th-month salary is an additional payment, typically equal to one month’s wages, intended to assist workers with holiday and festive expenses.

This year marks the third consecutive year Eno has implemented the payment.

In a related development, the governor announced in December 2024 that all public servants would receive the ₦80,000 minimum wage, highlighting his administration’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare.
