A truck carrying containers overturned on Otedola Bridge, Lagos, causing severe traffic congestion; motorists advised to use alternative routes

Chaos erupted on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday morning after a truck overturned on Otedola Bridge.

Officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority reported the incident occurred around 7:00 a.m., blocking nearly 90% of the roadway.

Only one lane remained open, causing heavy traffic delays for motorists heading towards Lagos.

LASTMA officers were dispatched to manage traffic and assist stranded drivers, while a recovery vehicle worked to remove the overturned truck and clear the road.

Authorities advised motorists to use alternative routes until full reopening.
