IMG Nigeria celebrates women in industrial gases, promoting leadership, mentorship, and innovation across operations, engineering, and management roles

Industrial & Medical Gases Nigeria Plc (IMG Nigeria) has reaffirmed its commitment to gender inclusion and leadership development, highlighting the growing role of women in driving innovation and operational efficiency across the industrial and medical gas sector.

The company commemorated International Women’s Day with an internal programme recognising female employees across engineering, operations, logistics, administration, finance, and corporate management.

The event, themed “Engineering Excellence: Women Accelerating the Power of Gas,” celebrated women’s contributions to sustaining operations that supply industrial and medical gases to manufacturers and hospitals nationwide.

Acting Managing Director Abayomi Oke emphasised that women are central to IMG Nigeria’s operational success and pledged to expand mentorship, professional development, and leadership programmes to support long-term growth in the sector.

Non-Executive Director Dr Patricia Opene-Odili noted that the 2026 theme “Give to Gain” underscores the strategic value of investing in women through mentorship and skills development, particularly in technical industries where engineering talent is in high demand.

In a presentation, Oluwatoyin Naiwo, Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), highlighted the increasing influence of women in leadership, innovation, and digital technology adoption, including automation and data analytics, to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.

Company Secretary and Legal Adviser Aderounke Segun-Alabi, recognised as the 2026 Face of IMG Nigeria, further praised female employees for their professionalism across safety, laboratory services, logistics, and corporate functions, noting their contributions strengthen the company’s performance.
