The Opta SuperComputer has projected the most likely UEFA Champions League semi-finalists following the first-leg results of the quarter-final ties.

The Champions League semi-final prediction model suggests that Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are the leading contenders to advance to the last four of Europe’s premier club competition.

The second legs of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals are scheduled to be played this midweek, with all four ties finely poised despite first-leg advantages.

Arsenal hold the strongest position statistically after their 1-0 away win over Sporting CP, with the model giving them an 88 percent chance of progression.

Bayern Munich are also strongly favoured at 83.4 percent, despite losing 2-1 at home to Real Madrid in the first leg.

Paris Saint-Germain carry an 85.6 percent probability after a 2-0 home win over Liverpool.

Atletico Madrid are rated at 78.9 percent following their 2-0 victory away to Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

According to the model, none of the teams that lost the first legs have more than a 21.1 percent chance of overturning their deficits, highlighting the difficulty of staging comebacks at this stage of the competition.
