Casemiro predicts Arsenal can win the Premier League title, saying the Gunners are close to success ahead of Manchester City

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has backed Arsenal to win the Premier League title, saying the North London club are close to ending their long wait for the trophy.

The Brazilian made the prediction during a recent interview with Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, where he was asked about Arsenal’s chances of lifting the title this season.

Casemiro suggested that Arsenal are in strong contention, insisting their progress makes them genuine title challengers ahead of defending champions Manchester City.

When asked directly if Arsenal could win the Premier League, Casemiro expressed confidence in their development under manager Mikel Arteta.

“Arsenal, I don’t know if it’s this season or next season, he will win,” he said.

Pressed further on whether he believes the Gunners will eventually succeed, he added: “Of course, it’s too close, it’s too close.”

The former Real Madrid midfielder also drew parallels with other elite teams, suggesting that success often follows sustained progress even after setbacks in major competitions.

Arsenal have been in strong form in recent seasons as they continue their pursuit of their first Premier League title since 2004, with expectations growing around the squad’s maturity and consistency.
