Alliance for Youth Nigeria has empowered over 25,000 youths through job and entrepreneurship training, aiming to reach 250,000 by 2030

Alliance for Youth Nigeria has provided more than 25,000 young Nigerians with practical skills, jobs, and entrepreneurial opportunities—marking four years of transformative intervention aimed at reducing youth unemployment.

Founded by Nestlé Nigeria, Jobberman Nigeria, Big Bottling Company, U-Connect HR Limited, and the United Nations Global Compact Network Nigeria, the Alliance is supported by the Federal Ministry of Youth, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, and Activate Success International.

The partnership is working toward an ambitious goal: equipping 250,000 Nigerian youths with employability and entrepreneurial skills by 2030.

This year, the Alliance conducted a flagship vocational programme in Jos, training 585 young participants in practical fields such as:

• Beauty care
• Video editing
• Solar panel installation
• Web design

Top-performing trainees received start-up kits and seed capital, empowering them to immediately put their skills into action and begin earning or creating jobs.

Participants also demonstrated their skills through live projects, underscoring the hands-on, result-oriented nature of the programme.

Shakiru Lawal, Country Human Resource Manager at Nestlé Nigeria, described the programme as part of a long-term vision to empower Nigeria’s youth:

Stephanie Iwunze, representing the United Nations Global Compact Network Nigeria, added:

Deborah Pitmang, Zonal Coordinator at the Federal Ministry of Youth, praised the initiative and emphasized the importance of sustained efforts:

“Youth make up a vital segment of Nigeria’s population. The higher the skills, the higher the gains.”
