The Nigeria international made a decisive impact after coming off the bench in the second half, marking a strong return from international duty.

The goal drew praise from former Arsenal forward Paul Merson, who likened the finish to those once produced by Thierry Henry.

Fulham completed the comeback in stoppage time when Harry Wilson curled in a long-range free kick to secure all three points.

The goal was Chukwueze’s first appearance since returning from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he represented Nigeria.

The winger has now recorded three goals and four assists in 10 Premier League matches this season, underlining his growing influence in Fulham’s attack.

Alex Iwobi featured for the full 90 minutes, while Calvin Bassey was an unused substitute, making two Super Eagles players involved on the day.

Fulham manager Marco Silva welcomed the return of his Nigerian players after their AFCON campaign in Morocco.

Nigeria finished third at the tournament, winning the bronze medal after a penalty shootout victory over Egypt.

Silva said the squad had missed the competition, intensity and leadership the players brought during their absence.

He added that the presence of the Nigerian trio lifted standards both on and off the pitch.
