EFCC arrests internet fraudsters in Edo92  State, detaining suspects and recovering vehicles and devices; cryptocurrency-linked case also underway

The arrests followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to various forms of online fraud. During the operation, EFCC recovered 11 vehicles and multiple mobile devices.

The suspects will be charged to court once investigations are complete.

In a related development, the EFCC arraigned 26-year-old Godslove Munachiso Obiwuru in Enugu State for alleged involvement in cryptocurrency fraud.

Obiwuru faces two counts of money laundering connected to the theft of 90,410 Gold Retriever Tokens, worth approximately $307,394, allegedly transferred to his Binance account. He pleaded not guilty.

The case has been adjourned for a bail hearing, and Obiwuru remains in EFCC custody pending trial.

The EFCC continues to collaborate with international law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, to tackle internet fraud and safeguard financial systems.
