Joao Pedro praises Moises Caicedo as Chelsea’s midfield machine, highlighting his ball-winning ability and importance to the team’s attacking freedom

Chelsea striker Joao Pedro has praised teammate Moises Caicedo, describing the Ecuador international as a “machine” and one of the most important players in the Blues’ squad.

“Moises, for me, he is the best in his position in the world,” Pedro said.

“He is a machine. He covers so much ground in midfield and wins the ball back so many times. That gives the rest of us the freedom to go forward and attack.”

Pedro explained that Caicedo’s defensive contributions allow Chelsea’s attacking players to push forward with greater confidence, knowing that the midfielder can help protect the back four.

The striker said Caicedo’s presence makes the team feel more secure, particularly because of his ability to break up opposition attacks and regain possession.

“When he is playing, we feel more secure as a team because we know he is there to protect the back four. So that is why he is very important for us,” he added.
