The development makes the United Kingdom the latest country to host a NECO centre, bringing the total number of international locations to eight, with plans already underway to establish new centres in Burkina Faso and Egypt.

The launch was conducted by Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, NECO’s Registrar and Chief Executive, in collaboration with Barnfield Education Ltd (BEP Education).

Professor Wushishi said the initiative reflects NECO’s commitment to providing quality educational opportunities to Nigerians living abroad.

“This new centre will make it easier for Nigerians in the UK to sit for NECO exams and gain recognised qualifications,” he said.

A statement issued in Minna, Niger State, by NECO’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, added that the Registrar also delivered a keynote address at the Education Matters Conference UK 2025, which focused on informing global education stakeholders about NECO’s growing international presence.

The London centre will offer both students and adult learners the opportunity to complete their secondary education or obtain equivalent certificates, even if they missed the chance previously in Nigeria.
