NNPP Declares PDP Politically Dead in Kano as key figures like Atiku and Okowa defect. NNPP says PDP is an empty house with no influence left in the state

NNPP Declares PDP Politically Dead in Kano following a wave of defections by top party figures, including former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his running mate Ifeanyi Okowa.

Addressing journalists in Kano, NNPP Chairman Hashim Dungurawadescribed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as an “empty house” lacking credible leadership and political relevance in the state.

Dungurawa questioned the integrity of a party that could not retain its presidential ticket holders. “How can a serious party allow its own presidential candidate to leave the party?” he asked.

He added, “Atiku is no longer there. His vice, Okowa, is no longer there. Even Amaechi, who conducted the primaries, has joined ADC.”

The NNPP Chairman went further to declare that only one party currently holds sway in Kano—his party. “We have NNPP as a party and Kwankwasiyya as an organisation where people are trooping into,” he stated confidently.

Dungurawa dismissed PDP’s hope of a comeback:
“You are bouncing to come back to the field or bouncing to go out. They are bouncing out.”

With top political players abandoning the PDP, the NNPP’s assertion reflects a crushing blow to the opposition’s presence in Kano.
