The suspects, 48-year-old tailor Ibrahim Haruna and his 15-year-old son, Abdusalam Ibrahim, were presented at the NSCDC headquarters in Gombe on Monday.

According to the corps’ Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Saad, the disturbing acts took place both at the father’s shop and at the family residence.

The victim, described as their neighbour with a mental health condition, was allegedly serially abused by both men.

Saad decried the rise in sexual violence and described the case as “worrisome,” stressing that rape and defilement have become troubling patterns in the state.

Also paraded was 72-year-old Balarabe Suleiman, accused of luring another 13-year-old girl into his car and raping her multiple times.

Investigators allege that Suleiman gave the child N200 after each assault until she eventually disclosed the abuse to her parents.

The NSCDC stated that investigations are ongoing and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice for the victims while calling for stronger community vigilance and stiffer penalties for sexual offenders.
