Tottenham’s Thomas Frank criticises Manchester United over Rúben Amorim sacking, citing instability as a threat to long-term success

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank criticised Manchester United over the sacking of Rúben Amorim, warning on Tuesday that constant changes in key positions make sustainable success difficult.

Frank spoke to reporters in London, emphasising the importance of stability and alignment in football management.

Frank argued that clubs rarely achieve lasting success through short-term fixes, particularly when coaches and sporting directors are frequently replaced.

According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Frank said, “It’s very difficult to achieve sustainable success if you change key personnel. That includes the coach and the sporting director.”

The Spurs manager highlighted Europe’s most consistent clubs — Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal — as examples where ownership, executive leadership and the head coach work in harmony.

“The best clubs are aligned — ownership, leadership and the coach,” he added.
