Osborne Chelsea move confirmed as the 18-year-old defender joins from Hearts on a long-term deal after a breakthrough season in Scotland

Chelsea have completed the signing of 18-year-old Scottish defender Alfie Osborne from Heart of Midlothian, with the Premier League club confirming the move on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in London.

The teenager has agreed a contract running until 2030 as Chelsea continue to invest in emerging young talent.

Osborne arrives at Stamford Bridge after a standout 2025/26 campaign with Hearts, where his progress earned him both the B Team Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards. His performances also attracted interest from clubs across England and Europe.
