Wale Ibrahim arrested for fatal stabbing of Fisayo Ajetumobi in Ondo. Police condemn the act as senseless violence and vow justice

In a statement released in Akure on Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, confirmed that the incident took place on 13 September at about 6:30 p.m. at a construction site along Lake Road.

According to police findings, Ibrahim had gone to the site to demand ₦14,000 from Gabriel Oyeniran as payment for wood previously sold. The demand reportedly escalated into an argument, during which Ibrahim became aggressive and produced a knife.

“In the heat of the altercation, the suspect, Wale Ibrahim, stabbed one Fisayo Ajetumobi, who was present at the scene, fatally wounding him in the chest,” DSP Ayanlade said.

The victim died instantly, while Ibrahim was immediately apprehended. Police investigations have since been concluded, and the suspect has been charged to court for prosecution.

Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, described the act as a senseless display of violence and cautioned residents against taking the law into their own hands.

He urged the public to adopt lawful means of settling disputes and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

“The command remains steadfast in its duty to protect the people of Ondo State. We call on residents to cooperate with us by sharing timely information that can help prevent crime,” CP Lawal stated.
