Yobe State police arrest a 29-year-old suspected motorcycle thief in Damaturu, recover stolen vehicle, and continue investigations ahead of prosecution

The Yobe State Police Command has apprehended a 29-year-old man suspected of stealing motorcycles in Damaturu, as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities across the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed that the arrest followed a report made on February 10 by Bukar Lawan of Sabon Fegi Ward.

Lawan stated that his Car-Go motorcycle, ash and black in colour, was stolen while parked in front of a friend’s residence in Nasarawa Ward.

Police operatives immediately launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of the suspect on Thursday. During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to the theft, and the stolen motorcycle was recovered and logged as an exhibit.

“The recovered motorcycle will be returned to its rightful owner following due process,” SP Abdulkarim said, adding that investigations will continue ahead of the suspect’s prosecution.
