Plateau State supplementary budget 2025 signed by Governor Mutfwang to bridge funding gaps and enhance security, with N109.7bn approved by the House of Assembly

Plateau State supplementary budget 2025 has officially been signed into law by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, following its swift passage by the State House of Assembly.

The appropriation, valued at ₦109.7 billion, is designed to address critical financial shortfalls and bolster public service delivery for the remainder of the year.

Governor Mutfwang gave assent to the budget at the Government House in Rayfield, after receiving the bill from the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Philemon Daffi, who commended lawmakers for prioritising the legislation.

Governor Mutfwang reiterated that security remains a top priority for his administration, not only as a matter of safety but also as a catalyst for socio-economic revitalisation.

He praised the cooperation of security agencies, noting that the improved atmosphere in Jos has encouraged tourism and hospitality, with hotels now enjoying full bookings.

“The growing number of visitors to Jos is a clear sign of renewed public confidence. We must maintain this momentum,” the governor stated.

Despite the progress, Mutfwang acknowledged that border communities remain vulnerable, urging the Nigerian Air Force to increase aerial surveillance in challenging terrains such as Mushere, Chakfem, Qua’an Pan, Wase, and Kanam.

During a courtesy visit by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal J. Usman, the governor appealed for urgent deployment of air assets to complement ongoing ground efforts.

Mutfwang also highlighted the need for stronger engagement with communities hosting military formations.

In response, Air Vice Marshal Usman praised the governor’s unwavering support and announced that the Air Force Provost Conference will be held in Jos as a show of confidence in Plateau’s growing stability.

“Our visit is not only to appreciate your support but to ensure operational readiness and professional excellence,” said the Air Chief.

He called on Air Force personnel, especially those at the base in Kerang, Mangu LGA, to foster civil-military cooperation in safeguarding Plateau’s territorial integrity.

The Plateau State supplementary budget 2025 is expected to inject fresh momentum into sectors hampered by funding gaps.

Analysts see the move as a proactive step towards stabilising local governance, attracting investment, and consolidating gains made under Mutfwang’s leadership.

The governor assured citizens of continued collaboration with security forces and government institutions to ensure that every naira spent yields tangible public benefit.
