According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs for Lagos State, Bolanle Ogunlola, the 10 kilometre race is being organised by the Lagos State Sports Commission in partnership with the Capital City Race Organisers.

The event will begin at Ikeja Shopping Mall before athletes proceed through Billings Way, Kudirat Abiola Way, Opebi Link Bridge, Adeniyi Jones and Oba Akran, finishing at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church on Oba Akinjobi Way.

The statement noted that several roads, intersections and junctions along the route will experience partial closures during the race period.

These restrictions will be lifted intermittently as participants advance along the course to maintain some level of movement within the axis.

The government added that officers of the Nigerian Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will be deployed to manage traffic and ensure the safety of runners and motorists.

The coordinated presence of security and traffic personnel is intended to provide a smooth and secure environment throughout the event.
