Bola Oyebamiji says voters will make history in the Osun governorship election by electing him as governor

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence that voters will elect him governor during the August 15 poll.

Oyebamiji made the declaration during a meeting with leaders and members of the Association of Mobile Telecommunication Engineers of Nigeria, Osun State chapter, held in Osogbo, according to a statement released on Sunday.

Represented by the Chairman of Civic Engagement of the APC Campaign Council, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the APC candidate said the forthcoming election would mark a turning point for the state.

Speaking on the Oyebamiji Osun governorship election campaign, the APC flagbearer said residents would return the state to what he described as the progressive path.

“History will be made on August 15 as I will be elected governor of the state. I am confident and hopeful in God and in you that it will be my day,” he said.

Oyebamiji pledged to prioritise people-oriented policies if elected, stressing that governance required serious commitment and strategic planning.

He said his administration would focus on economic security, healthcare, education and social protection, while also expanding social safety nets to reduce poverty across the state.

The APC candidate further promised to create opportunities for economic growth through support for small businesses, capacity building and infrastructure development.

Oyebamiji assured members of the telecommunications engineers’ association that his administration would support their sector, noting its importance to business and technological development.

He also highlighted his policy agenda, code-named “PROSPER”, which he said would improve the living standards of residents.

Urging voters to ignore negative campaigns against him, Oyebamiji said his values and political ambition were rooted in service to humanity and sustainable development.

Earlier, the President of the association, Abdulrasaki Ejalonibu, assured the APC candidate of members’ support in the election.

Ejalonibu said the group appreciated the recognition given to it and recalled the support it enjoyed under the administration of former Osun governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.

He, however, urged Oyebamiji to fulfil his promises if elected governor.

The Osun governorship election will see Oyebamiji face incumbent governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party.
