The 27-year-old Nigerian striker, currently at Galatasaray, is one of five forwards on the club’s radar as they seek to create healthy competition for Benjamin Šeško, whom they signed last summer.

According to reports, United view Osimhen as the ideal profile — a powerful, experienced and prolific No.9 who can immediately improve their frontline.

The Nigeria international enjoyed another excellent campaign in Turkey, scoring 22 goals and providing eight assists.

“Manchester United see Victor Osimhen as their ideal signing,” sources close to the situation have indicated.

Although Šeško has shown promising signs under manager Michael Carrick after a slow start, the club believes bringing in a more seasoned and physically dominant striker will raise standards across the squad.

Osimhen’s combination of speed, aerial ability and clinical finishing has made him one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.

However, securing his services is expected to be challenging due to the high transfer fee involved and strong interest from other clubs.

In addition to Osimhen, Manchester United are monitoring several other attackers, including Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović, young Bournemouth talent Eli Junior Kroupi, and veteran Robert Lewandowski.

This move would represent a significant statement of intent from the Red Devils as they aim to close the gap on the Premier League’s top sides and mount a stronger challenge in domestic and European competitions next season.
