Super Falcons striker Gift Monday has completed a permanent move to Boston Legacy FC from Washington Spirit in a reported $500,000 transfer, marking a new chapter in the Nigerian forward’s career in the United States.

The 24-year-old joins the Major League Soccer (MLS) club after making 48 regular-season appearances for Washington Spirit, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists, according to a report published by Daily Post on Friday, October 9, 2026.

Monday expressed excitement about the transfer, describing her arrival at Boston Legacy FC as an honour as she prepares to take on a fresh challenge.

“I’m very happy and honoured to be here today as I officially join this wonderful club,” she told the club’s official website.

The move represents another step in Monday’s career, which has included spells in Nigerian and Spanish football before her time in the United States.

She previously featured for Nigerian clubs FC Robo and COD United Amazons before moving to Spain to play for CD Tenerife.

During her time with Tenerife, the forward made more than 65 appearances and recorded 26 goal contributions across nearly 4,500 minutes of playing time.

Her performances subsequently led to her move to Washington Spirit, where she continued to develop her reputation as an attacking option.

With 12 goals and three assists in 48 regular-season matches for the Washington-based side, Monday brings experience and attacking quality to her new club.

Monday is currently on international duty with Nigeria’s Super Falcons for a 2028 Olympic Games qualifying fixture against Comoros.

Her involvement with the national team comes as she prepares for the next phase of her club career with Boston Legacy FC.
