Delta police drug raid leads to the arrest of three female suspects and recovery of suspected illicit substances in Warri

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three female suspects during a decisive raid on suspected drug hideouts in the Ogbomoro and Ugolo communities of Warri metropolis.

The operation was carried out by officers attached to the Effurun Area Command following credible intelligence on suspected drug-related activities within the area.

The suspects were identified as Favour Isaac, 25, Favour Felix, 24, and Samson Precious, 19.

Police authorities said the Delta police drug raid was conducted on May 7, 2026, at about 9:20 p.m. when operatives executed a search warrant at hideouts located along River Road in the Ogbomoro community.

Items recovered during the operation included 21 bottles of CSC codeine, two canisters containing nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas”, two packs of suspected psychoactive chewing gum branded “Highness Gum”, and 640 grams of substances suspected to be Canadian Loud concealed in bags and containers.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Bright Edafe, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Monday.

Edafe said preliminary investigations revealed that one Rukewe Tega Isaac, who is currently at large, was allegedly the principal supplier linked to the drug network.

The police spokesman added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and dismantle other members of the syndicate.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intensifying operations against drug trafficking and related criminal activities across the state.

Oyeniyi warned that the circulation and abuse of illicit drugs remain a major factor fuelling violent crimes and social vices among young people.

The police commissioner also urged residents to continue supporting law enforcement agencies with timely and credible information capable of aiding ongoing investigations and future operations.
