Governor Adeleke whereabouts questioned by Osun APC as they allege secrecy over his US trip. Governor’s camp says he’s attending Davido’s wedding in the US

Governor Adeleke Whereabouts have come under scrutiny following an accusation by the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming the governor has been absent from the state for over two weeks without any official communication.

In a sharply worded statement, APC’s Director of Media and Information, Mr. Kola Olabisi, alleged that Governor Ademola Adeleke quietly left Osun shortly after a rumored failed defection to the APC.

He criticized the governor for what he described as a repeated pattern of disappearing without accountability.

“It is absolutely wrong for Governor Adeleke to sneak out without notifying the people he governs. The office demands full commitment,” Olabisi stated.

He also recalled a similar instance in the governor’s first year in office when conflicting reports placed him in both the US and UK, while it was later confirmed he had traveled to Thailand for medical reasons.

The APC further challenged the governor’s accountability, saying leadership is not a family affair and requires transparency and responsibility.

In a swift response, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, clarified that the governor is currently in the United States attending the wedding of his nephew, global music star David Adeleke (Davido).

He added that the governor traveled via the family’s private jet a few days ago and emphasized that the trip is short and not an official vacation.

“From November 2022 till now, the governor has not taken an official leave. He remains in full contact with his deputy, who is supervising state affairs,” Rasheed said.

Mockingly extending an invitation, Rasheed encouraged the opposition to attend the US wedding or join virtually to “share in the joy” with the Adeleke family.
