Ademola Lookman produced a brilliant display as Atalanta secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany on Wednesday, strengthening their position in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Lookman set the tone early, stretching the Frankfurt defence and creating multiple opportunities before opening the scoring in the 60th minute.

The Nigerian forward latched onto a precise cross from Charles De Ketelaere, taking an exquisite first touch before firing clinically past the goalkeeper.

Two minutes later, Lookman turned provider with a perfectly weighted pass that released Ederson, who surged into the box to smash home Atalanta’s second goal.

The third arrived in the 65th minute when De Ketelaere reacted fastest to a rebound and slotted the ball low into the centre of the net.

Atalanta dominated throughout, with Frankfurt struggling to mount a coherent response.

Injuries to key players, including Jonathan Burkardt, disrupted the home side’s rhythm, while Marco Carnesecchi’s assured goalkeeping and a disciplined defensive line kept the visitors secure.

Lookman was substituted in the 82nd minute to warm applause from the travelling supporters, having played a decisive role in all phases of Atalanta’s attacking play.
