William Gallas criticises Chelsea ownership, saying poor management and constant managerial changes are driving the club’s ongoing struggles

Former William Gallas has delivered a fierce criticism of Chelsea FC, blaming the club’s ownership structure for its continued struggles under the Clearlake-led management era.

Speaking in an interview with Get French Football News, the ex-Arsenal captain expressed frustration at what he described as a lack of coherent direction at Stamford Bridge despite significant financial investment in recent transfer windows.

Gallas argued that the disconnect between the club hierarchy and supporters has become increasingly visible, warning that the issues were foreseeable years ago.

He said the constant inconsistency in decision-making has contributed to instability within the squad, making sustained progress on the pitch difficult.

While acknowledging Chelsea’s recent Club World Cup success, Gallas insisted the achievement does not reflect genuine long-term stability or progress within the club structure.

The former defender pointed to ongoing managerial changes as a key symptom of deeper organisational problems.

Chelsea’s turbulent campaign has seen the club slip to ninth in the Premier League after 36 matches, amid reports of multiple managerial changes during the season.

Gallas stressed that heavy spending without clear planning has failed to deliver results, despite the club’s significant investment in rebuilding the squad.

He added that supporters are increasingly frustrated with the direction of the team and the absence of a stable long-term vision.
