Air Peace Boeing 777 joins the fleet, supporting the airline’s global expansion and offering Nigerians affordable access to international travel

Air Peace Boeing 777 has officially joined the airline’s fleet, marking a major milestone in its international expansion strategy.

The wide-body Boeing 777-200 ER, bearing registration 5N-CEG, arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Friday from Teruel, Spain.

The aircraft was welcomed with a traditional water-cannon salute and a reception led by Air Peace Chairman Dr. Allen Onyema and the management team.

Spokesperson Efe Osifo-Whiskey stated that the aircraft, the airline’s fourth Boeing 777, is aimed at deepening global connectivity and providing Nigerians affordable access to international travel.

Configured with 312 seats, including 26 business class and 286 economy class seats, the aircraft combines comfort with modern amenities. Dr. Onyema described the acquisition as a pivotal milestone, signaling a decisive step in Air Peace’s growth trajectory.

The new Boeing 777 will be deployed within the next two months for inaugural long-haul flights from Abuja to London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

The airline also plans to expand routes to key European cities, South America, particularly direct flights to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the Caribbean, building on existing operations to Antigua and Barbuda and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Dr. Onyema emphasized Air Peace’s commitment to fair and affordable international travel while curbing high fares traditionally charged by foreign carriers. He highlighted the importance of an efficient Nigerian hub system to enhance regional and global connectivity.

The Air Peace chairman expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for supporting indigenous airlines through enabling policies, and commended the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, for implementing measures that position Nigerian carriers to compete effectively on the global stage.
