Islamic scholar Sheikh Gumi stated that the Nigerian government knows every terrorist by name and location, adding that he works with security agencies during negotiations

Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has affirmed that the Federal Government of Nigeria has detailed knowledge of all terrorists, including their names and locations.

Speaking in an interview on DRTV, Gumi addressed claims that he personally interacts with terrorists and bandits. He clarified that he does not operate alone, emphasizing his collaboration with the police, military, and other security agencies during negotiations.

“The government knows every terrorist by name and location. I don’t go alone to negotiate — I go with the police, military, and other security agencies,” he said.

Gumi further explained that he engages traditional leaders in his peace efforts. “I would go to the Emirs. In fact, when we went to one forest, I even went with women into the bush,” he added, highlighting the inclusive nature of his interventions.

The scholar’s comments come amid ongoing discussions about security, negotiation with bandits, and the role of religious leaders in mediating conflict in Nigeria.
