The Super Falcons will face a WAFCON-qualified side in June after their planned UK training tour and Jamaica friendly were cancelled

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Nigeria women’s national football team, will now face another qualified side for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in a two-legged friendly next month after their planned training tour to the United Kingdom was cancelled.

The Super Falcons, coached by Justine Madugu, were initially scheduled to take on Jamaica women’s national football team later this month as part of preparations for the continental tournament.

The proposed fixture was called off after Jamaica reportedly withdrew due to administrative issues.

Nigeria will now host another WAFCON-bound team during the international friendly window scheduled from June 7 to June 14 as preparations intensify ahead of the tournament in Morocco.

The Super Falcons are targeting a record-extending 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title after maintaining their status as the most successful team in the competition’s history.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group C alongside Malawi women’s national football team, Zambia women’s national football team and Egypt women’s national football team.

The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 25 to August 16.
