Alex Iwobi says he is fully prepared to work with whoever becomes the new Fulham manager after Marco Silva’s departure. The Nigerian international remains committed at Craven Cottage

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has declared he is ready to work with whoever is appointed as the club’s new Fulham manager following the departure of Marco Silva.

The 30-year-old Nigerian international addressed the managerial uncertainty at Craven Cottage on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, after the Portuguese coach ended his five-year association with the West London side.

Iwobi, who thrived under Silva and became the Nigerian with the most Premier League appearances while recording a career-high in goal involvements, expressed strong confidence in his adaptability.

“Yeah, I mean, I can only go off my experience with the national team and at Everton,” the former Arsenal player told TalkSPORT. “I’ve had several managers there, so it won’t be difficult for me to adapt. We’ll be ready to play for whoever the manager is.”

Marco Silva has now signed a two-year deal with Benfica, with an option for a further year.

Fulham are yet to appoint a successor, with former Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa and former Everton boss Frank Lampard among the leading candidates.

Iwobi, whose contract runs until summer 2028, spoke positively about the possibility of reuniting with Lampard, the manager who helped revive his career at Everton.

However, he emphasised his commitment to the club’s future regardless of who takes charge.

“Of course, I’ve worked with Frank Lampard before and he’s someone I really enjoyed working with,” he added. “But I don’t really mind as long as the manager that comes in wants to help better the club and so do the players.”

The Cottagers missed out on European qualification last season by just one point, with the prolonged uncertainty over Silva’s future believed to have played a part in derailing their ambitions.

Despite the change, Iwobi has maintained a calm and professional stance.
