Bola Oyebamiji Honoured as Nigeria’s Most Media-Friendly CEO

Bola Oyebamiji, immediate past Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, was named the Most Media-Friendly Chief Executive Officer in Nigeria’s maritime sector over the weekend by the Coalition of Maritime Journalists

The award, announced in a statement on Monday by the group’s convener, Frank Meke, recognised Oyebamiji for his consistent engagement with journalists, accessibility, and proactive support for media initiatives during his tenure at NIWA.

Oyebamiji, also a leading All Progressives Congress gubernatorial aspirant in Osun State, was praised for his openness to scrutiny and commitment to the welfare of maritime reporters.

Meke highlighted that Oyebamiji distinguished himself as approachable and unassuming, consistently responding promptly to industry enquiries and supporting journalists’ association programmes.

“He is truly a journalist’s CEO, and the media community has unanimously agreed to honour him with this distinguished award,” Meke said.

The coalition also commended Oyebamiji’s role in strengthening information flow between NIWA and the maritime press, describing him as a bridge-builder whose leadership encouraged transparency, accountability, and harmonious stakeholder engagement.
