Kwara health training partnership advances as hospitals board inspects University of Offa for possible student clinical training

The Kwara State Hospitals Management Board has moved to deepen a Kwara health training partnership after inspecting the University of Offa for a potential collaboration in clinical training for students in health-related programmes.

The inspection followed a formal request from the university seeking collaboration with state health facilities for student training, according to a statement issued on Saturday by the board.

The on-the-spot assessment was led by the Executive Secretary of the board, Dr Abdulraheem Malik, to evaluate the institution’s suitability for practical training in health disciplines.

The board said the visit aligns with the Kwara State Government’s strategy under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to strengthen human capital development through partnerships between public health institutions and educational establishments.

During the visit, the team evaluated infrastructure and facilities considered essential for effective student training and hands-on exposure.

Dr Malik was quoted as saying that such collaborations are critical to improving the quality of healthcare education and addressing manpower needs within the state’s health system.

The management of the University of Offa commended the board for the visit and expressed readiness to comply with regulatory and professional requirements necessary for student training in accredited state health facilities.

The board noted that the engagement is expected to lead to further discussions and possible formal agreements aimed at enhancing healthcare training and service delivery in Kwara State.
