Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been banned from driving for six months and fined £660 after admitting to speeding in London

Oliver Glasner, manager of Crystal Palace, has been banned from driving for six months after breaching a 20mph speed limit in London.

The 51-year-old Austrian was caught by a speed camera driving his BMW at 29mph along Old Kent Road in Bermondsey, south London, in July last year.

Court records showed that Glasner already had previous driving offences on his record, making him liable for an automatic disqualification.

He pleaded guilty in writing to Willesden Magistrates’ Court and accepted responsibility for the offence.

“I fully accept responsibility for my actions and understand the seriousness of this matter,” Glasner wrote in a handwritten note to the court.
“I have taken steps to ensure it will not happen again.”

A magistrate imposed the six-month driving ban last week. Glasner was also ordered to pay a £660 fine, £130 in costs, and a £264 victim surcharge.

The ban comes months after Glasner guided Crystal Palace to FA Cup glory in his first full season in charge, securing the club’s first major trophy.

However, the Eagles were later knocked out of this season’s FA Cup in the third round.

Glasner has also announced he will leave Palace at the end of the season when his contract expires, citing concerns over the club’s transfer policy.
