Nigerian artiste Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has shared details of his pre-show rituals, revealing how he prepares mentally and physically for live performances.

Speaking with Dazed on the sidelines of Milan Fashion Week, the 25-year-old singer explained that his routine involves drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, praying, and coordinating with his team before taking the stage.

“A little Tequila, a little cigarette, pray, tap in with the team and make sure everything is on cue. Performing has a lot to do with your breathwork and you have to keep the crowd going,” Rema said.

He stressed the importance of breathwork as a critical element for maintaining energy and engagement during live shows.

Despite incorporating smoking into his routine, Rema acknowledged the health risks associated with the habit, describing it as his “biggest vice.”
