UNIUYO Vice Chancellor Prof. Nyaudoh denies involvement in alleged admission fraud and urges staff to maintain integrity, highlighting the university’s academic progress

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Nyaudoh, has categorically denied any involvement in alleged admission fraud at the institution, while cautioning staff against engaging in unethical practices.

Prof. Nyaudoh addressed the issue during a live media chat on Tuesday, organised by the GIE Art Lead in collaboration with the UNIUYO Printing Press.

The event, themed “Professor Ndauyo’s Administration: Fallacies or Fact”, took place at the 1,000-capacity TETFund Auditorium in Uyo.

The university has recently faced reports of admission racketeering, with claims that places in highly competitive courses such as Medicine, Pharmacy, and Law were being sold for sums ranging from N300,000 to N1 million.

Parents alleged that agents, allegedly acting with the Vice Chancellor’s approval, were collecting the fees.

Responding to these claims, Prof. Nyaudoh said, “I have never given anyone any instructions to sell admission, and God will vindicate me. But for anyone involved, I give them just two years to tell what they have been able to achieve with such money.”

The Vice Chancellor also took the opportunity to highlight UNIUYO’s academic progress under his leadership.

He noted that the university is now ranked among the top 20 universities in Nigeria and 15th in research output, demonstrating the institution’s growing academic reputation.
