Air Peace Abuja London flights launch on Oct 26, 2025, with UK backing, set to ease northern travel and slash ticket prices

Air Peace Abuja London flights are set to take off on October 26, 2025, following strong support from the United Kingdom, a move that promises to ease travel for northern passengers and reduce fares on the busy transcontinental route.

The announcement was made by Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema, during a Travel Agency Forum in Abuja.

He praised the UK’s Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos, Jonny Baxter, for facilitating the process, describing him as a “good diplomat who ensured Air Peace got everything it needed.”

Onyema stressed that the new service represents a revolution in Nigerian aviation. “Instead of transiting through Doha and other places, we are taking passengers to London direct from Abuja,” he said.

He added that Air Peace’s entry had already forced rival carriers to lower fares, describing the airline as “the cheapest on the London route.”

Reflecting on the company’s journey, Onyema highlighted the challenges overcome and credited the Federal Government, particularly Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo and President Bola Tinubu, for supporting Nigerian carriers.

He also revealed ambitious expansion plans to destinations including Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Antigua, Barbados, and Toronto, alongside renewed routes across Africa.

Ibiwari Kemabonta, Vice President of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (Abuja Zone), welcomed the development. “This is a good thing for the Abuja market.

Many people prefer to travel from Abuja, and this will reduce travel time while giving more convenience,” she said, adding that Air Peace offers “comfort, home feeling, and global competitiveness.”

The new service builds on Air Peace’s successful Lagos–London flights launched in March 2024, which disrupted the market and compelled foreign airlines to cut fares.

With the Air Peace Abuja London flights, travellers will also enjoy seamless connections to multiple Nigerian cities using a single ticket, eliminating the need for rechecks and multiple bookings.
