United Nigeria Airlines launches direct flights from Lagos and Abuja to Ilorin, boosting domestic connectivity and economic growth

United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has commenced direct flight operations from Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin.

The airline confirmed the new route in a statement on Monday signed by its spokesperson, Chibuike Uloka, describing it as a “significant milestone” in UNA’s mission to enhance domestic connectivity.

The expansion follows the airline’s recent launch of a direct flight to Accra, Ghana, with the inaugural aircraft named in honour of the late Ghanaian President, Jerry Rawlings.

UNA now operates a fleet of nine aircraft, reflecting its commitment to reliable and efficient air travel for business passengers, families, and tourists.

Uloka said, “United Nigeria Airlines looks forward to serving Ilorin and making a meaningful contribution to the state’s social and economic development. With every new destination, we reaffirm our mantra, Flying to Unite, bringing Nigerians closer to opportunities, culture, and commerce.”

The airline also announced upcoming network expansions.

Direct flights from Lagos and Abuja to Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport will commence on 10 December 2025, while services from Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, to Chinua Achebe Airport, Anambra, will start on 15 December 2025.

UNA emphasised that these initiatives aim to foster national integration, improve domestic mobility, and support economic growth across the country.
